Hi, it's Veronika here! Today I'm going to introduce to you a great vegan photographer Charlotte and her shop based in England. Charlotte is also a like-minded business owner who sells on Etsy - her beautiful nature photographies which she offers as cards and prints for many occasions. But that's not all! Charlotte, please let us know more about you and your brand, work and goals:
Hi Veronika,
Thanks for getting in touch with me.
In simple terms, I studied Art & Design at college and fell in love with photography. I have been taking photos ever since. I enjoy all kinds of photography but mostly landscape and nature, especially when I use my macro lens and I am able to get great close up pictures of flowers and lovely bumblebees.
I have recently started to do more photography outside of my day job, in the past year I have shot 6 weddings plus various newborn and family shoots. I enjoy capturing memories for people but I still just love going for a walk and taking my camera to see what I might find.
About a year ago I set up my Etsy shop, I don’t expect to make much money on here, but it is nice to have another place to showcase my work. It is also great that I don’t need to purchase greeting cards anymore as I just use my own :)
Veronika: That's a good point - for the same reason I started making maths cards =) I love yours - especially the cat-themed cards... (just look at it!)
I plan to sell greeting cards and prints mainly of nature, landscapes and animals, however, I aim to do some more vegan related pieces too. I have just ordered some more cards with a few different designs, so I will take photos of them once they arrive.
With my photography, I would ideally love to work with other vegans, especially clothing lines, charities, shops etc…
I have taken photos on marches and various activist events and recently did some merch shots for The Animal Justice Project. See some examples below:
Carlotte Chapman: World Day For Animals in Laboratories
In terms of products, I have greeting cards which are left blank inside and many of them can be used for various occasions, plus you can, of course, frame the image afterwards. The cards are made from sustainably sourced paper and the envelopes are made from recycled paper, also I do not use any plastic to wrap or send them in. I asked the company I order them from and they said they do not use any animal ingredients in any of their products.
I want to expand my greetings cards and do some “silly” ones, including vegan phrases or quotes alongside animals.
My frames are one-off pieces I have decided to frame and put online. I aim to do a whole selection of Japanese prints at some point, as I visited Japan earlier this year.
I want to try and take more photos at the more vegan protests and also write more blog posts (though I am very much a beginner in this areas!)
So much I want to do, so little time! :)
Many Thanks,
Charlotte :)
